[2012 F1] 포스인디아, 2012년형 머신 ‘VJM05’ 공개

포스인디아가 팀의 본부에 인근한 서킷 실버스톤에서 2012년형 F1 머신 ‘VJM05’를 공개했다.

폴 디 레스타와 니코 훌켄버그 두 젊은 드라이버가 몰게 되는 포스인디아의 신형 머신은 신 규제로 인해 페라리, 케이터햄이 앞에서 보여준 것과 닮은 계단이 생긴 노우즈가 적용되었고 사이드포드가 한층 슬림해졌다.

올해에도 ‘VJM05’에게 동력원을 공급하는 메르세데스로부터 든든한 지원을 받고 있는 영국인 드라이버 폴 디 레스타는 2011년에 아쉽게 4포인트 차이로 로터스(구 르노)에게 내준 컨스트럭터즈 챔피언십 5위를 차지하는 것이 팀의 2012년 목표라고 한다. “그것이 올해 저희의 가장 큰 목표입니다. 컨스트럭터즈 5위 말입니다.” ‘스카이 스포츠(Sky Sports)’에서 폴 디 레스타.

“하지만 그러한 목표를 달성하기 위해서는 매뉴팩처러(르노) 팀의 머신을 추월하지 않으면 안 됩니다. 그것은 F1에서 매우 큰 일입니다. 그들은 월드 챔피언십 우승 팀입니다.” “우리가 요구하는 경쟁력을 이 머신이 보답해준다면 다음 스텝으로 전진할 수 있을 것입니다.”
